JON DAVID COUZENS became the voice for those who were voiceless.  He stood up and spoke out on the Priest Abuse scandal as it spewed forth in Kansas City.  The victim of relentless attacks by The Catholic League and other groups who wanted him silenced, Jon David persevered.  Because of his efforts, the survivors of the Catholic Church sexual abuse scandal in Kansas City have been given a voice.

In 2011, Judy Thomas of the Kansas City Star ran an award winning investigative report about Jon David Couzens and his fight to bring justice to a classmate who committed suicide when he was abused by Monsignor Thomas O'Brien.
